Meet Shaura
Hello, I’m Shaura. My journey into wholeness began in 2004, when I found myself in a Native American sweat lodge in Oregon. It was there that I encountered my first spiritual community – a relationship that has remained alive and formative over many years.
My time in the ceremonial world, including a four-year commitment to the Sundance and an ongoing relationship with this lineage, continues to shape every aspect of my life and work. This ceremonial lineage is the birthplace of Pilamaya – the hub from which my professional trainings and wider work have grown. It influences not only how I understand healing and transformation, but how I live, teach, and serve.
“…My ongoing commitment to our sundance ceremony influences every aspect of my life and work on this planet.”
In 2005, after returning to the UK, I began practising Reiki as a form of self-healing. Within a few years, it became clear that this work would extend beyond my own process and into supporting others. From these early experiences, my path began to take shape through a combination of embodied practice, therapeutic training, and long-term inquiry into healing and human development.
My professional training has unfolded alongside lived experience and sustained practice. I trained as a Yoga Therapist with The Minded Institute, becoming an accredited C-IAYT practitioner, and later developed the Yoga Therapy for Addictions Continuing Professional Development – an early integration of somatic, psychological, and relational approaches to recovery.
Over time, my work expanded to include psychotherapy, supervision, neuroscience-informed somatic approaches, and interfaith ministry, reflecting an ongoing commitment to depth, integration, and ethical practice.
I am a Neurosomatic Psychotherapist, a certified Brainspotting practitioner, and hold qualifications in Supervision and transpersonal psychology. I am also an ordained Interfaith Minister and the founder of the Pilamaya Centre , where I serve as course director for professional trainings in Integration Psychotherapy and Psychedelic Assisted Integration Psychotherapy (PAIP), as well as an NCIP-accredited CPD in Meditation and Facilitation for Mental Health.
Rather than viewing these strands as separate disciplines, my work has evolved through their integration. Over the years, I’ve come to trust that healing is rarely about fixing what is broken. More often, it is about learning how to meet what is true – with steadiness, relationship, and the right kind of support. This is the spirit in which I offer my work.
“To say that working with Shaura is transformational would be to put it lightly, life changing would be a more accurate description of the profound depth of healing, growth and incarnation I have experienced whilst on her courses. I am deeply grateful for the wisdom, humility and grounded spirituality that Shaura brings to all of her offerings.”
“Spending a weekend with Shaura on a women’s retreat was one of the most special experiences of my life. She has a unique gift for making you feel seen, held and safe. I learnt so much from her and will always be so grateful for the time I spent with her. I really hope I get the chance to do something with Shaura again.”
“This course is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Shaura has an incredible capacity to hold a large group and support individual growth in each of us. I am excited to become an Integration Psychotherapist and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in this field or expanding as a human being.”
